Most Dreams & Nightmares have some reason behind them

Dreams are a part of most of the people’s life, it may be a day dream or one that you experience while you sleep. Dreaming was never an issue but Nightmares are something that nobody likes. Although nightmares can sometimes be random creations of your subconscious brain with no particular deeper interpretation but in many cases nightmares actually have specific causes or meanings behind them.

We thought of bringing to you a list of common nightmares that you either have or might experience while you sleep and their rather common interpretation.



1. Falling

One of the most common nightmares that people experience is of Falling. Its either from a mountain, building, rooftop or in some cases your bed. The reason for such a nightmare is mostly Anxiety in your personal life where you are not able to control yourself and the situation. These anxieties are often due to issues with money, relationships, careers or some kind of abuse and it basically indicates that you are not able to control the situation causing that anxiety.




2.Can’t Move, Can’t Talk, Can’t SCREAM…


It happens to many and there is a possibility that as soon as you read this you will say “yaa it happened to me too”. This is a medically accepted state of body and is known as a Sleep Paralysis. Lack of sleep, poor sleeping conditions, stress, and other sleep problems are usually the cause of this condition. It can cause hallucinations and sometimes get very frightening and scary. People with this condition often describe their feeling as they felt a presence in the room and many cultures have complex folklore surrounding it.



3. Being chased or attacked

Another one of the most common nightmares, it can be that you are chased or attached by a human, animal, ghost or an alien as well these days. This sort of nightmares haunts those who are being bullied, troubled, pushed around or abused. It indicates that you are not able to confront the person or face an ongoing scenario and yes Taking note of your actions within the dream may help you find a correlation between the nightmare and your real life actions that can help you deal with the problem.




4. You find Yourself Naked!

Waking up from a nightmare of finding yourself naked in public is surely embarrassing. People with low self esteem or fear of being judged by people is a big reason for such nightmares. A suggestion for people who experience such a nightmare is to boost their self confidence


5. Seeing a Dead


This type of a nightmare is usually very frightening and many of us at some point or the other have experience it. People who are not able to let go of someone who passed away recently or people who have a fear of the unknown and anxiety about their personal illness experience these terrible nightmares.



6. Missing your flight or Train or an Important meeting because you didn’t wake up on time. 

Nightmares about missing your flight or an important appointment or some other special event are particularly common in people who live a fast-paced and high-pressure life, although they can happen to anyone. It usually happens to people who have an anxiety about failing or not being able to meet the expectations. One should remove the negative thoughts around the targets that they have to achieve in order to ensure that they are free from such anxieties.


7. Being trapped

This one can really leave you disturbed once you wake up. People with claustrophobia (fear of small places) or who are afraid of not being able to get out of their current situation, including financial problems, a dead end job or a negative relationship they feel they cannot escape commonly experience these nightmares.


 8. You are peeing!

This one happens to many, especially during their childhood, when you have a dream that you are peeing somewhere and before you realized you actually do pee in the bed. Many are able to control it but the ones who can’t find themselves in a wet bed. Although many don’t want to talk about it or even mention it but it happens and if its happened to you then do not be ashamed of it.
